Internationally awarded actress and filmmaker Nita Fernando has been invited to be a part of the jury of 5th Jaipur International Film Festival.

Nita has been requested to be a part of one of the two categories of the festival. She was asked to be either in the category of ‘Coming Stars’ (student films) in which there are 15 films or in the ‘U-Turn Rajasthan Panorama’ which has 13 films and 25 animation films with the complete duration of 5 hours.

“It is undeniably true that when it comes to the development of the World Cinema then your contribution in it is certainly important. This is the reason why we very well understand that whatever responsibility you will handle, you’ll carry it perfectly and professionally,” Hanu Roj, the festival director wrote to Nita.
Nita’s latest film ‘Swara’ (Seven Notes) which talks about the pathetic journey of HIV infected in Sri Lanka is also to be screened at a different category of the festival which runs from January 30 to February 3 in Jaipur, India. The film with a significant message has been nominated for the Green Rose Award for a film with a Global message.

‘Swara’ stars Sachini Ayendra Mahipala, Anusha Rajapakse, Damitha Abeyrathne, W.Jayasiri, Diluni Mallawaarchi, Danu Innasitamby and Nita herself in the stellar cast.
