In commemoration of 120 years of excellence, Zahira College proudly marches forward with celebrations in the form of a College Walk inviting all the present and past students as well the parents to be a part of this parade. Zahira Walk 2012 will be commence on the 1st of December at 8 am followed by a carnival at school premises. The carnival will continue on 2nd of December 2012 at 4 pm at same premises.

The event was scheduled to take place early this month and as a precautionary measure due to inclement weather, was rescheduled and extended by another day. The main reason which prompted the organizers to stage it this year was the yen, zeal and zest shown by the participants in order to showcase the Walk.  The event will also feature a number of batches, groups, clubs and societies presenting a unique theme in order to add colour to the Walk.

‘It was indeed disappointing to postpone the event, nonetheless; we are delighted to announce that Zahira Walk 2012 will take place on 1st of December 2012 at 8 am and subsequently draw all participants to the carnival which will be in full flow on 2 December 2012 from 4 pm onwards too.’ Walk Chairman Zulfiquar Ahamed stated.

Zahira Walk 2012 would draw the curtains with the culmination of a vivacious display of fireworks along with an absolute carnival atmosphere comprising games stalls, food stalls, trade stalls and performances by past and present college students, fun rides for kids, stilt walkers, carnivals mascots and many more. This two-day event promises great joy and numerous fun-filled activities to keep you enthralled and engrossed in commemorating a century and two decades of quality education and in producing worthy citizens for this country year in year out. Tickets are out for grabs with limited tickets especially for the Walk, contact the Walk Hotline on 0772 120 120 for more information pertaining to the event.

‘We also wish to express a word of gratitude to all the participants for not only giving us the inspiration and encouragement to put together an event of this magnitude but also for bestowing their belief in us and supporting the organizers as and when needed. We hope to witness a river of green with just one name on everyone’s lips – ZAHIRA!’ Zulfiquar Ahamed concluded.
