Jetwing has been ranked as one of the three best group of hotels that had brought out “Inspiring Stories from Destinations” in the Responsible Tourism forum at ITB Asia organised by Wild Asia, Jetwing Hotels stated in a media release issued recently.

It noted that this award was bagged following its corporate social responsibility programme titled Jetwing Eternal Earth Programme (JEEP) encompasses all activities and measures that help to uplift communities, implement sustainable practices, and create a positive action for the environment.

The presentation was made at the annually held ITB, Asia in Singapore hosted by the Wild Asia team, which focuses on accounts of people and companies that have made a difference, the company stated.

“The Responsible Tourism Forum was an ideal platform to showcase all our efforts coming under our JEEP programme to a wide international audience,” Jetwing’s Head of Sales and Marketing Ishanth Gunewardene said in the statement.

Through JEEP, Jetwing Hotels reaches children, teachers, individuals, and visitors, encouraging positive action for the environment, the release stated.

As part of its initiatives the company said, Jetwing Hotel’s Community Outreach showcases the ongoing programmes carried out by the hotels which connect with the local community.

Its humanitarian programmes cover the regular community-based activities that are carried out throughout the year by all hotels; and the group’s Eco Projects are initiatives undertaken by Jetwing in the field of conservation and raising awareness on the environment, the release said.

In addition, ‘Trees for Life’ is an afforestation initiative undertaken by Jetwing at Talawila where hotel guests have the opportunity to make a contribution towards offsetting their carbon footprint, it noted.
