Five overseas players who played for the Basnahira Cricket Dundee franchise in the Sri Lanka Premier League are likely to receive their due payments finally.

Sri Lanka Cricket Secretary Nishantha Ranatunga speaking to the Sunday Times said, “We were not aware of this situation till the Federation of International Cricketers Association (FICA) brought it to our notice and once that was done we took the matter up with the relevant people.”

International players Rilee Russouw has not received any of the money owed to him, Charl Langeveldt has only received 25% of his payment and Dirk Nannes, Cameron Borgas and Daniel Smith are still awaiting 50% of their payment.

FICA CEO Tim May had officially taken the matter up with Sri Lanka Cricket stating that he had endured a “series of broken promises” from the Basnahira Cricket Dundee since the end of the tournament, and that the FICA would consider taking legal action if the matter was not resolved.

Now it is understood that the CEO of the Basnahira Dundee Mr. Charan has confirmed to the SLC that all due payments would be settled by November 5, 2012. The main sponsor of the Basnahira Dundee was TVS Infrastructure..
