SLIIT in collaboration with long-standing global affiliate Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) UK to gear students for exciting career paths through the institutes MSc. and Postgraduate Diploma in Telecommunication and Electronic Engineering. The program, designed for those with engineering and relevant scientific backgrounds, will serve to enhance their skills necessary to become specialists in electronic and telecommunication engineering. Combined with SHU’s academic expertise and curriculum, this advanced degree will enable participants to acquire an in-depth understanding of design, development, and maintenance of current telecommunication and electronic systems. SHU has been in partnership with SLIIT since 2006 and is recognised as a Centre of Excellence for teaching, learning and employability in the UK. SHU possesses an exemplary track record for the highest student enrolment of any UK university, and possesses  strong links with industry, commerce and the public sector.

“The curriculum has been structured to prepare students to tackle the most complex issues in modern telecommunication systems by emphasizing learning through practical investigation and problem solving” explains Professor S. Karunaratne, Chairman of SLIIT.
As a component of the programme, candidates will complete a major project, supported by a project supervisor, in an area of their choice. “This holistic approach to learning will enable participants to focus on a topic uniquely tailored to their career aims” elaborates Professor Lalith Gamage, President and CEO of SLIIT. “Our goal is to maximise the participant’s employment and career potential as a graduate, while providing the relevant industries with professionals who can demonstrate and apply their skills and expertise in telecommunications and electronics”.

The MSc. and Postgraduate Diploma in Telecommunication and Electronic Engineering programme will be conducted at SLIIT’s Metropolitan Campus in Kollupitiya, Colombo 03  and its  Malabe Campus during weekends.SLIIT is a prestigious internationally affiliated educational institute in Sri Lanka, which to date has produced over 6000 IT graduates and a further 15,000 IT professionals.
