DSS stun Mahanama


D.S. Senanayake recorded a stunning 31-29 win against Mahanama in their annual rugby Big Match encounter played at Longdon Place yesterday. Interestingly Mahanama who are playing in the Division I B segment surprised D.S. Senanayake in the first half when they dominated the scene and maintained a healthy 22-12 lead. D.S. Senanayake who bounced back to score a stunning win scored from five tries and three conversions while Mahanama recorded their points from four tries, three conversions and a penalty. Oshana Lakshan, Arnold Fernando, Lakshan Wishvajith, Bhathiya de Alwis and D.H.T. Udana scored a try each for the winners while the conversions were made by Praneeth Lakmal. For Mahanama Eranda Dissanayake scored two tries apart from a try each from Thakshika Perera and Buddhika Lakshan. Janith Chandimal made the conversions.
