Revival of acquired Celestial Residencies turns into a mess

The revival of the state-acquired Celestial Residencies, one of the premier iconic properties of collapsed Ceylinco group of companies, under the troubled Revival of Underperforming Enterprises and Underutilized Assets Act has turned into a mess, due to the wrong company being listed in this law.

 
Tourism ends 2011 on high note at nearly US$850 mln forex

Tourism is expected to top approximately US$850 million in foreign exchange in 2011, up sharply by 47% from 2010. Tourist arrivals also rose by 30 % last year to 855, 975. Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau Managing Director Rumy Jauffer told the Business Times that the foreign exchange earnings for 2011 are in line with targets.
