Funday Times - A Poem for the week

The sound of bells

By Mithara Kuruwita, St. Bridget’s Convent

The sound of bells I hear,
Carols being sung with
lots of cheer
Yes, this is that time of the year,
When Santa is finally here.

On the ground I see,
A white blanket of snow.
Up comes the Christmas tree,
On which the lights glow.

Sitting near the fireplace,
Writing their wish list with joy,
Children, hoping that Santa would bring,
For them, their favourite toys.

Oh what a merry scene oh!
With holly, poinsettia and mistletoe,
Around me, as I sit here,
While the sound of bells
I hear.
