Fall of Kilinochchi imminent: Keheliya

Government Defence Spokesman Minister Keheliya Rambukwella today declared that the fall of Killinochchi is very imminent.

“The fall of Killinochchi is very imminent. We are gaining control of the district and the LTTE is withdrawing from their positions in the area,” he told today’s defence media briefing.

He added that the troops were now at the outskirts of the town and that he is awaiting the Commander in Chief to declare the fall of Killinochchi.

Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakara said that at present there is fierce fighting being waged in Killinochchi as government troops advance forward..
