Bogollagama blames CFA for high military expenditure

Foregin Minister Rohitha Bogollagama told Parliament today that the Cease Fire Agreement (CFA) has lead to the present huge military expenditure.

The statement came in response of a statement made by UNP MP Kabir Hasheem that the UNP has no issues on military expenditure, but they do not agree with the high rate of wastage and misuse from the funds allocated for this purpose.

Mr. Bogollagama also that that India is concerned on the humanitarian aspect of the ongoing operations and the Tamil Nadu politicians have stated that Tamil Nadu politicians have stated that innocent civilians should be protected from attacks, but not stop attacks agaisnt the LTTE.
