Kalutara district going under water, landslides likely

Several families were displaced in several divisional secretariats across the Kalutara district due to floods following torrential rains.

According to the Kalutara district Disaster Management Center, by midday today, villages in Horana went under water. The stretch of road in Mudulana of the Kalawana-Mathugama road has gone four feet under water.

Several areas under threat of possible landslides have been identified and families have been advised to move out.
