Military says LTTE attack forces 50 food lorries to turn back

Fifty lorries carrying food for civilians in Mulativu and Kilinochchi came under an LTTE claymore mine attack today, Military Spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said.

The LTTE had then opened fire at the lorries, he said.

No one was injured in the attack. The lorries have now safely returned to government controlled areas, he added.
