Emergency passed

Emergency was passed in Parliament with 98 votes for and 14 against. The UPFA and the NFF voted in favour and the TNA voted against the emergency. UNP and JVP abstained from voting.

MP Vinayagamoorthi Muralitharan (Karuna Amman) too voted for emergency amidst protests by TNA MPs'. .
