Former Minister and Ex-Governor Kingsly T. Wickremaratne passes away

Former Trade Minister and ex-Governor for Southern province, Kingsly T.Wickremaratne passed away today. He would have been 70 years on Friday.

He first contested the Kaduwela electorate in 1977, but was elected to parliament in 1989 and returned to Parliament in 1994. He held the portfolios of Trade and Commerce during that period.

Subsequently he was appointed as the Governor for the southern province.
