JKH aids Bandaragama flood victims

The John Keells Social Responsibility Foundation recently came to the aid of flood victims in Bandaragama by providing 5,000 packs of essential food items – including rice, tea, sugar and meat balls – worth approximately Rs.2.5 million to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Human Rights.

JKH Director Sumithra Gunesekara said employees from across the group rallied round to help pack the rations and a team took time off from work to travel to Bandaragama and help distribute them. “At JKH, this is one of the values we abide by: reaching out to communities, identifying their needs and simply helping them.

This has been instilled into all our employees and I am pleased that, be it a flood or a tsunami, everyone is eager and willing to help out in any way they can,” he said.
