Creating a little sunshine

Imagine yourself as an energetic little six-year-old who has just broken your hand. Once you are in the hospital, would you prefer to be in a ward that looks and feels dreary or in one which is painted in vibrant colours, with pictures of your favourite cartoon characters?

As one of its many community service projects aimed at children this year, The Interact District 3220 teaming up with Amana Takaful Insurance, plans to colour wash the Accident Ward of the Lady Ridgeway Children's Hospital, Colombo 8. 'Project Sunshine' as the Interact District 3220 have dubbed their effort, aims to create a more child friendly atmosphere in Sri Lanka's only accident ward dedicated solely to children. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 280,000 and the Interactors hope to collect the funds through donations from Interact and Rotary Clubs. Raffle tickets are also on sale.

They are appealing for public support and any donations can be made to Interact District 3220 Nation's Trust Bank A/C No. 015212009170. For more details, contact info@projectsunshine.tk or log on to www.projectsunshine.tk
