Why it is important to protect wildlife

According to the Red Indian Chief Seattle, wild animals are our brothers and sisters. But today in Sri Lanka cruel people destroy wild animals. They are a part of the nature like human beings. Therefore it is inhuman and a great sin to kill wild animals. The animals also have a right to live.

According to some newspaper reports, some species of animals are at the threat of extinction. Selfish people invade jungles and cut down valuable trees and sell them at high prices. Then the wild animals will suffer. As a result wild animals invade villages, kill innocent people, destroy their houses and farms.

As responsible citizens we must love nature and it is our duty to protect it. If we try to destroy wild life, nature will punish us.
