Lankan presentations at the PATA CEO Challenge

Two Sri Lankan travel trade personalities made presentations at the Pacific Asia Travel Association(PATA) CEO Challenge on ‘Confronting Climate Change’ at the 2-day meeting in Bangkok recently.

Renton De Alwis Chairman, Sri Lanka Tourism, spoke on Sri Lanka Tourisms’ Earth Lung Concept where the destination will give leadership to bring all stakeholders together to deliver sustainable growth in a carbon conscious environment, while Srilal Miththapala, CEO Director /Serendib Leisure, presented some of the initiatives taken by Hotel Sigiriya in Energy and Environment conservation, leading to reducing the hotels’ carbon footprint. CNN’s Kristie Lu Stout was one of the moderators of the programme.
