Now it’s a Royal -Thomian threesome

In the latest development in the Bata-The Sunday Times Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of The Year Contests – the Royal-Thomian threesome Milan Fernando (S.Thomas’), Haroon Mawjood (Royal) and Naveed Ghany (S. Thomas’) have entered into a three-cornered battle at the end of count No 6.

Yet again Milan Fernando leads the fray with 3264 votes to his credit while Mawjood is still in the second place with 2907 votes. However Ghany who made a slap-bang entry straight into the fourth place has taken one step further to take the third place with 1519 votes.

Besides Ghany Josephian Dimuth Karunaratne also has shown improvement in his popularity by taking over the fourth place with 847 votes. Surprisingly Nalanda’s ‘star’ player S.M. Ashan Priyanjana has moved down to the 6th position after holding onto a place within the first three during the first five counts.

R.A. Dinesh Chathuranga of Tissa MMV Kalutara still holds on to his top slot in the Outstation Contest with the same vote count he had during the last count. But Palian Ishan Thilina Athureliya is now only fourteen votes away from him at the second place.

In the International Schools Contest Aadhil Bakeer Markar of Asian International is moving away from the Gateway gang and now is enjoying a comfortable lead of 784 votes.
