Zimbabwe plunged into poll war: MDC

Zimbabwe's opposition today accused President Robert Mugabe of deploying militias for a war to reverse the result of last weekend's election. Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) leader Morgan Tsvangirai said Mugabe was “preparing a war on the people” and deploying loyal forces, including liberation war veterans, ahead of a presidential runoff vote.“Militants are being rehabilitated,” Tsvangirai told a news conference, adding that the central bank was printing money “for the finance of violence”.

Youth Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was caught off guard last Saturday when a woman scribe asked him how "comfortable" he was being the cynosure of young women and being called prince charming. Blushing over the personal question, the 37-year-old bachelor politician told reporters he appreciated that women find him charming and that he was getting used to the special attention his presence drew at public gatherings.

India to show first Pakistan-made film in 43 years

A Pakistan box-office hit on Friday became the first film from that country to be released across theatres in India in more than four decades, its director told AFP. "Khuda Kay Liye" (In The Name Of God) stars Pakistani actors Shan, model Iman Ali and India's Naseeruddin Shah, who plays the role of a Muslim cleric.
