Cross country nationals today

The national cross country championship 2008 will be worked off in Bulathsinhala today. This run will also be counted as a selection trial for the runners who will be picked to represent Sri Lanka at the World Cross Country Championships which is scheduled to be held in Jordan in March this year.

For today’s run there will be ten athletes from each district which will total to over 150 participants. The men’s run will be worked off for 12 km while women’s run will be for 6km. Those take the first three places from both sexes will receive prizes ranging from Rs.15,000/-
