CCC crushed Ragama by nine wickets with more than a day to spare in their Rupavahini Premier League cricket encounter concluded at Maitland Crescent yesterday to record their second successive win in the ongoing tournament.

Ragama CC having lost their two previous matches that they have played began the third days play yesterday with another defeat staring at their face. Resuming from their overnight score of 58 for 3 still needing another 62 runs to avert an innings defeat left arm pacie Sujeewa de Silva made an early breakthrough when he dismissed overnight batsman Indika de Saram and Sudeepa Perera and Ragama slid to 74 for 5.

From there on Ragama began losing wickets at regular intervals with Sujeewa de Silva who finished with figures of 5 for 48.
If not for a 58 runs partnership for the ninth wicket between Malinga Bandara and Harsha Nilantha, Ragama would have had to undergo the ignominy of losing by innings.
