The crowning glory

Hail one of the true sons of our soil! This son of Sri Lanka now is on the threshold of cutting a special niche for himself in the cricketing annals on such a pinnacle that it would be hard to fill out in the foreseeable future. However the beauty of it is that by almost of his own making he has come to his own home town to wear the crown as the bowler who has taken the most number of wickets in the history of cricket. When Muralitharan bowls the whole world stops to watch him bewitching his opponents. It is not only the opposing batsman who is mesmerized looking into the off spinners’ bulging eyes, but, the rest of the cricket world who keeps on guessing whether the next ‘un would be just an off spinner, a top spinner, a doosra or any other delivery he has in his arsenal? All eyes will be on what time he takes that 709th wicket to surpass Shane Warne’s record of 708 wickets.
