A bold comeback

Divas take a bow with Lou Ching Wong.

The much anticipated fashion show 'The Divas are back' held to raise funds for the worthy cause of the School for the Deaf and Blind, Ratmalana was every bit as exciting, alluring and entertaining as the models themselves.

Yes, they were back…the glamour girls of yesteryear, all vigour, sparkle and grace! Geraldine, Pauline, Veena, Yoland, Angela, Caryll, Roshanara, Sylvana, Neidra, Lilani, Shirlene and Roshi - all of them couldn't have carried off the beautiful gowns, flowing skirts, sexy sheaths and colourful sarees any better on the ramp at the Galle Face Hotel last Tuesday. They modelled stunning clothes by seven of Sri Lanka's leading designers - Lou Ching Wong, Yoland, Ruchira, Chris, Ruchira, Dhammika and Darshi who had all rallied round to help the cause.

It was perhaps the first time that a show like this, conceptualized by Lou Ching Wong, paid tribute to the mature woman of today. Not surprisingly almost all the clothes were snapped up soon after the show. To complete the show was Koluu who did a Britney Spears routine- of course with more clothes on, and there was Erosha and the go-go girls doing a splendid act - of dancing.
