Musaeus in easy win over GSC N’Eliya

The Musaeus College under 18 team scored a comfortable win over Good Shepherd Convent (GSC) Nuwara Eliya at the Milo Netball Tournament worked off at the Sumana Balika Vidyalaya gymnasium in Ratnapura yesterday. The competition is being sponsored by Nestle.

The match was originally scheduled to be played at the Ratnapura Public Playground but at the last moment the venue for all under 18 games was changed to the Sumana Balika Vidyalaya due to overnight rain.

The ground was water-logged and the under 17 and under 15 matches too were worked off at the Ratnapura Public Playground.
Musaeus took a 15-10 lead against Good Shepherd Convent in their under 18 encounter and ultimately beat them 26-17. For the winners Vindya Seneviratne, Rangika Rajapaksa and Prashani Rajaguru excelled with their passing and positioning.

A thrilling game was witnessed when Visakha Vidyalaya took on Nugawela Central which Visakha won at 22-11 after leading 12-8 at the breather.

Anuska Kahawala and Sadunika Wijesekera were outstanding for Visakha.

Yasodara Balika Vidyalaya Nugegoda received a walk-over St. Joseph’s Balika Vidyalaya Nugegoda and Kumaragama Vidyalaya received a walk-over from Southland BMV Galle.
