Chamber music by German quartet

Visiting Sri Lanka on their current South Asian tour, the Signum Quartet, an outstanding young German chamber music group will present a concert at the British School auditorium on Sunday, September 23 at 7 p.m. The concert is organised by the German Cultural Institute in Colombo and the programme will feature a selection from German composers such as Schumann and also a piece by a young German composer.

The Signum Quartet will also conduct a workshop and master classes for Sri Lankan classical musicians on Monday, September 24. The Quartet won first prize in Germany’s youth competition ‘Jugend Musiziert’ and since then have won several prizes and scholarships.

They have worked with internationally known musicians such as Gyorgy Kurtag or Tabea Zimmermann. For tickets and more information, please contact the Goethe Institut on tel: 2694562 or 4712636.
