Adoption of blade technology for local enterprises

The consolidated designs of Blades and the integrated management, offer a better way to not only reduce costs of operations, but also to eliminate much of the infrastructure hardware costs

Companies around the world are adopting blade technology as their next generation IT, faster than any other server architecture. But why? Simply put, the majority IT costs of today are from operations such as maintenance, power and cooling, and down time.

The consolidated designs of Blades and the integrated management, offer a better way to not only reduce costs of operations, but also to eliminate infrastructure hardware costs up front, including network switches, management software licenses, and cables. DMS Electronics together with its partners Hewlett Packard and Citrix Systems has launched a joint initiative to introduce simplicity to local enterprises through HP Blade servers and Citrix software.

This was disclosed by Managing Director DMS Electronics Ltd T.L Chandranath at a media conference held in Colombo last week.
He added that HP Blade system infrastructure provides a more efficient mechanism for optimizing efficiency and change.

With this infrastructure, a pool of servers can be managed as easily as a single server which in turn would help organizations to deploy multiple applications in a much simple manner.

DMS Electronics has already installed a number of blade servers in some of Sri Lanka’s leading blue chip companies.
