Pradeep comes with Ganga Diyawara

Dramatist, playwright, painter, creative artiste Saman Pradeep Hettiarachchi is to turn a yet another page in his life as a singer with his maiden CD and cassette, 'Ganga Diyawara'.

The collection of the songs done with the participation of veteran names in the Sinahala music scene comprises Ven Rambukkana Siddharatha Thera, Dr. Sunil Ariyaratne, Rathna Sri Wijesinghe, Bandula Nanayakkarawasam, Lucian Bulathsinghala, Anura Hagoda, Nilar N. Cassim, Chandima Vithanarachchi, Amila Thenuwara and Ashoka Kevilage in penning the songs.

The leading musicians contributing for 'Ganga Diyawara' are Rohana Weerasinghe, H. M. Jayawardena, Samantha Perera, Mahinda Bandara and Tharupathi Munasinghe.

A past student of St Thomas’ College, Kotte Pradeep has excelled in various fields of arts. Starting with the stage, his play 'Yuddaye Saddaya' in 1992 (The Sound of War) won a Saraswathi Award as the Best Drama, and this was followed by 'Sunaka Watha' (The tale of the Dog) and 'Desathurayo' came to the final round at the Youth Drama Festival.

Migrating to England Pradeep is quite famous for his extraordinary creativity. In 1994 he held an exhibition of paintings done of the skins of dead snakes and other reptiles in London attracting a large crowd. Making another discovery, Pradeep is planning to make carvings from human skeletons, a thing said to have been never done before.

His next plan is to join the Guinness World record by painting the world's longest painting. Titled 'Jesus Lover', a 7800 ft long painting will soon be exhibited in London.
