Div I umpires in luck’s way

The Lankan white coat gentry is in luck’s-way. The SLC development programme has embarked on a new programme to get the emoluments and vision of their division one umpires on the right perspective.

In the first move the umpires’ daily pay has upped by a sizable one thousand rupees. This means their pay will move up from the present Rs.2500/- to Rs 3500 per standing/-. Besides the above benefit they also stand get help to sustain their vision too. In future all division one umpires will get Rs.5000/- towards spectacles while they will also get another allowance to check their vision.

That’s not all. SLC also have made arrangements to conduct seminars in psychological and mental aspects of umpiring along with physical fitness programmes. Finally the umpires will also be given the opportunity of following English classes for their own personal development.

In other areas of development new sprinkler systems will be given to Moors SC, CCC, Police SC, Tamil Union and Colts CC while the Tamil Union which is a leading international cricket venue will gets its dressing rooms upgraded..
