Royal dominate

Royal dominated the inter school table tennis tournament held at S. Thomas’ sports complex yesterday. For the first time in the tournaments’ history Royal ‘A’ and ‘B’ entered the final in the under 18 ‘A’ Division age group category. Royal’s first team coasted to an easy three nil victory in the final.

In addition Royal also won the ‘C’ Division championship. They defeated Dharmasoka Ambalangoda by three sets to two in the final.

Incidentally in the quarter finals of the ‘A’ Division Royal ‘B’ defeated last year’s champions Dharmaraja Kandy by three sets to two. In the semi finals Royal ‘A’ defeated Dharmasoka Ambalangoda while their compatriots eased by Devananda Ambalangoda.
In the under 12 Division Royal ‘A’ beat Royal ‘B’ by three sets to one.
