Nabbed with passports bearing forged visas

A man possessing several passports bearing forged Canadian visas was arrested in Maradana on Friday, CID officials said.

Investigations had revealed that the man had charged about Rs.800,000 from each person who came to him seeking to travel to Canada.

CID officials had arrested another person from Dehiwala who had been assisting in the forging. They have also recovered from the person a number of false identity cards belonging to Tamil nationals.

It has also been later revealed that the man who was arrested in Maradana had a forged passport and a false identity card.
