St Sebastian’s record fourth successive win

St Sebastian’s recorded their fourth successive outright win when they defeated Wesley by seven wickets in their Elephant Lemonade inter-school encounter concluded at Moratuwa yesterday. They are registering an outright victory over Wesley after a lapse of 13 years which was in 1994 under the captaincy of Sanjeewa Silva.

Chanaka steers Bens to first win
Right arm pacie Chanaka Wijewardena with a match bag of 11 for 41 steered St Benedict’s to their first outright win of the season helping them beat St Anne’s Kurunegala by eight wickets in the match concluded at Kotahena yesterday.

DSS-Rajan match drawn
The inter-school cricket encounter between DSS and Dharmaraja concluded at Wijerama Mawatha ended in a draw yesterday. Rajans resuming from their overnight score of 47 for 1 were bowled out for 120 in reply to DSS score of 281 for 7 declared. Made to follow on they ended the day on 159 for 9.
