The battle between man, rain and earth slips
Heavy rain in the recent past caused havoc, especially in the hill country and many people perished or was rendered homeless as a result of numerous earth slips. Also in the aftermath quite a few roads became impassable and the rescue efforts were hampered. Even today those travelling to Nuwara Eliya and beyond, have to use alternate and often longer roads.

Buying my motor cycle
One thing which appalls me about our motorcycling scene is how ignorant our motorcycle salesmen are. Drop in at any show room (selling mainly Indian and Chinese bikes nowadays) and all they can tell you is the engine capacity and fuel consumption figures - and of course the warranty details, price and how to get leasing facilities.

Talking about politics, sex and cars
I dislike hanging around most car guys. There is something about cars, motorcycles, guns, politics and sex where almost all guys think they are experts at the prior mentioned, no matter how lame and inept they actually are about the subject. Guys, usually the less they know will argue passionately for eons about these manly subjects, and data and facts will not sway their opinions. It is quite irritating for those in the know. Sometimes however, it can result in manly challenges, which can be good for the well-versed nerd, especially if they involve wagering cash!

Come play Golf with us
From the time it hit the roads of Germany in 1938 the Volkswagen became a household name and most of us who belong to the generation before grew up with it. There was an era that the Volkswagen Beetle dominated our roads along with the Morris Minor arguable accounting to about fifty per cent of the vehicles that plied on our roads in the 1960s. However with the advent of the Japanese vehicles in the post 1970 era the European giants lost their edge but, now they are back and Senok now has been appointed its new dealer in Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
