Be dazzled by beauty & fashion

A galaxy of international beauty queens led by the reigning Miss World Tatana Kucharova will be in Sri Lanka for Fashion Statement 07, the Rotary Club of Colombo East’s mega fashion show to be held on February 24 at Water’s Edge. The show is presented in association with the Sri Lanka Tourist Board.

Femina Miss India for Miss World Natasha Suri

On the ramp will be, Femina Miss India for Miss World Natasha Suri, Femina Miss India Earth Amruta Patki, Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe Jacqueline Fernandez, Miss Sri Lanka for Miss World - Danielle Kerkoven with former Miss Sri Lanka Anarkali Akarsha making a guest appearance.

The beauty queens will take the ramp to display the creations of leading Indian designers J.J. Valaya, Satya Paul and Mandira Wirk.

Proceeds of the show will go for some of Rotary’s large community service events. These will be to set up a Sewing Centre in Welisara for girls from underprivileged homes to be trained in sewing, provision of safe drinking water to a village in Eluvankulama, Puttalam District and a Community centre in Spilyaya village in Lunugumvehera.

The show is choreographed by Brian Kerkoven, with Ramzi Rahaman as the official beautician. The official hotel is the Hotel Galadari and the official transport will be BMV. The official advertising agency is Mel Ads with the Wijeya Group of Newspapers, The Sunday Times, the Daily Mirror and Hi Magazine coming in as media sponsors and MTV/Yes FM as electronic media sponsors.
