Recognition for road safety

Chevron's commitment to international road safety earned them royal recognition at the prestigious Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards.

Presented at London's Savoy Hotel, the awards encourage best practices in road safety schemes worldwide. Chevron received a Highly Commended Award in the international section. The citation read: 'Chevron Global Lubricants has a firm and long-standing commitment to safety and its initiatives spread far beyond the acquisition, processing and distribution of its oil and petroleum products'.

The judges noted that Chevron's global road safety work is aimed not only at its own employees but all road users in the territories in which it operates.

The award citation explained that Chevron's efforts had not only reduced accidents and saved lives but were destined to bring about real culture change in countries with appalling safety records.

Dr. Brian Worrall, General Manager, Commercial and Industrial Sales for Chevron in Europe accepted the award.

Chevron is one of the world's leading energy companies marketing of finished lubricants in about 175 countries around the world under the company's brands of Caltex, Texaco and Chevron. Chevron Global Lubricants matches lubrication performance with superior local support and its brands are recognized for a legacy of quality, performance and technology.
