Bloomfield thrashed in their own den

The Star studded Bloomfield out ate the humble pie in their own den yesterday. CCC’s chase of 253 for victory looked easy thanks to unbeaten knocks of 88 and 57 from Tharindu Mendis and Eshan Abeysinghe who together put on an unbroken stand of 144 for the fifth wicket in their Sirasa Premier Super League encounter.

Tharindu’s 102 ball knock comprised of 14 boundaries and two sixes while Eshan cracked 11 boundaries off 72 balls. CCC resuming their overnight score of 54 for no were given a good start by openers Michael Vandort and Daminda Ranaweera.

Colts home for lunch
The Colts and Ragama CC game which was expected to end in a close finish turned out to be a one sided affair with the home team romping to an easy 131 run victory at Havelock Park.

Colts needed just another 15.2 overs to destroy the Ragama batting, with the visitors resuming on their overnight score of 31 for 1 had nothing much to offer. Only opener Amila Sandaruwan was able make a decent score with the others failing.
