‘Walakulu’ make a move on Rupavahini

‘Walakulu’ (Clouds), the latest teleplay made based on Nihal Peiris's novel is now being telecast every Friday at 8.30 pm on Rupavahini.

Directed by Ajith Lokuge the story revolves around two lovers and a series of unexpected incidents that take place when the identities of their parents are revealed. The minplay stars a talented cast including Wasanthi Chathurani, Jayalath Manoratne, Avanthi Aponsu, Umayangana Wickremasighe, Gayan Wickremathialake, Daminda Samarakkody and Janak Premalal.

Walakule depicts the story of Senaka and Nelum lovers who carry on with the blessings of their parents. Though Nelum's mother, Anula has approved of her daughter's affair she had been living in abroad for a long time. She makes arrangements to return to Sri Lanka and meet Senaka's parents to finalise the wedding.

It was during this that Senaka's father, Nandasena comes to know the real identity of his daughter-in-law to be and this leads 'Walakulu' in to many dramatic twists.

Earlier based on Nihal Peiries' novels well-known teledramas 'Meeduma' and 'Rathriiya' were made. Screenplay written by Nihal Peiries, camera by Upul Prabath, art director Deeptha Mangalasoma, make-up Nalin Premathilake and Tharupathi Munasinghe is the music director.

Assisted by Prasanna Iththepana, 'Walakulu' directed by Ajith Lokuge and for the Susila Production Sandaya Mendis produced it.
