Closely following the Calendar New Year would be the lunar Chinese New Year in the month of Feb. 2007 the Year of the Yin Fire Pig – Ding Hai.

The Year of the Fire Pig and the forecast is based on the advanced school of Feng Shui known as “Ba-zi” also known as the “four pillars of destiny”. It is an analysis of the clash of elements and its implications on various Chinese animal signs and also on the various industries and global economy.

In 2007, the elements combine to form what is known as “fire sitting on top of water” and this as per Feng Shui element analysis is symbolic of clash and conflict giving rise to disharmony, unrest, regional warfare and even change of government in certain parts of the world. The clash of elements also signifies natural disasters like explosions, nuclear threats, torrential floods and soil erosion.

Pig belongs to water element; it means germination of plants and birth of new life. This indicates a new era in international relationships, growth of travel and tourism sectors and social reforms. We need to be cautious of the fact that the clash of elements in Chinese astrology is also representing clash of the animal signs that is Pig clashing with snake. Snake can be interpreted as something sliding/coasting or moving so indications are of unforeseen traffic accidents in the rail, air and other modes of transportation sectors. Accidents and disasters at elevated locations, high rise buildings, giant wheels and space crafts are also possible.

With regard to overall health prospects we could witness epidemics and viral flu outbreak. The element fire represents the heart, circulatory and nervous system so we need to have more inner peace. Paying more attention to the physical and mental health in 2007 is advisable. Interest towards holistic healthcare, meditation and spirituality will increase.

The element fire represents the stock markets but since it is “yin fire” (weak fire) it would be an illusive year with stocks shooting up till mid 2007 and collapsing later. Art, entertainment, finance, electricity, energy and airline industries representing fire elements will see a slowdown.

Earth and metal related elements which comprise oil, chemical, mining, property, hotel, insurance all relating to earth industry and healthcare, IT, heavy engineering, and equipment manufacturing which relate to metal industries will see a major growth.
Wood element industries like fashion, textiles, publications, interior décor, furnishing industries will do alright. Water industries representing shipping, communications, soft drinks and beverages will witness extreme competition and weaken the profitability.
