Dengue threat amidst high-rise buildings

An abandoned BOI-approved luxury apartment project has become a major mosquito breeder in the heart of the tourist enclave at Mount Lavinia.

Hidden from public view by high-rise apartments, the site is on 35/1 Beach Road.
It is near a 20-perch mosquito breeding pool of water.

Complaints by residents of this imminent dengue threat have fallen on deaf ears.

When residents call the Dengue Campaign at the Ministry of Health on 2368417 they are asked to complain to the MOH Dehiwala on 2723290. The response from the MOH office: “The PHI will be informed.”
