Ditched investors giving up hope

Seagull Internet scam:

Investors in the Seagull Softwares’ fraud are dejected at the lack of interest by the authorities in their case and most have simply given up any hope of the two swindlers being caught or recovering any of their losses.

"We tried to get an appointment with the President," said Harren Tennakoon, committee leader for the Seagull members. "But we were advised it would not be possible. The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) has not helped so there is nothing for us to do. We are just doing our work and getting on with our lives." He told The Sunday Times FT that his attempt at contacting the CID was unsuccessful because of the lack of interest shown in the case.

The Seagull members’ website is still active displaying pictures of Dominic and Raj Kumar, the two Indian nationals at the centre of the scam, urging the public to report any information they might have to the relevant authorities. So far, their quest to make any headway in the investigation has been unproductive. So will the investigation falter? "We need help from the authorities. They have to take more interest," said Tennakoon. "We cannot conduct the investigation ourselves." For now, the investors have resigned themselves to go about their business but still keep hoping for the best.
