Dialog demonstrates top growth- report

Presenting the growth prospects for Dialog Telekom the Bartleet Mallory Stockbrokers (Pvt) Ltd said in a report that last year the company has demonstrated both top line and bottom line growth, while acquiring a 100 percent stake in MTT Network (Pvt) Ltd (renamed as Dialog Broadband) and further expanding its coverage in terms of base stations and subscriber growth.

“The revenue of Dialog grew by 58.11 percent to Rs.18,034 million in 2005 compared to Rs.11,406 million achieved in 2004. The 56 percent growth in the total subscriber base has been the main cause of growth for the company and a range of value added services coupled with an improved coverage and tariff reduction has steered the subscriber growth in 2005,” the report said.

It said that the bottom line of Dialog Telekom group grew by a massive 45 percent to reach Rs. 7,548 million compared to Rs. 5,146 million achieved during the nine months of last year and that the key revenue components are domestic revenue (which consists of postpaid and prepaid) and contributes approximately 77 percent of the total revenue, whilst international roaming revenue and international termination revenue contributes nine and eight percent respectively.

“For the nine months ended 30th September Dialog Telekom together with its subsidiary Dialog Broadband Networks (Pvt) Ltd, has posted a revenue of Rs. 18,890 million during this period indicating a growth of 47 percent. The growth was fueled by the rather stable growth in the subscriber base, usage increases and reach in network. The subscriber base grew by 47.2 percent to 2,834,000 active subscribers, with 83 percent being represented by pre paid subscribers, while the rest being the post paid subscribers,” the report added.
