Rajya Sabha not second to Lok Sabha
A determined Supreme Court of India has thrown out the petition filed to seek the review of its two-part judgment. One, a Rajya Sabha member need not be normally a resident of the state which returns him or her through its assembly. Two, secret ballot system is not germane to free and fair election.
 
Battle for Congress heads to tense finish
WASHINGTON, Saturday (Reuters) - The battle for control of the U.S. Congress headed yesterday to a tense finish, with Democrats threatening to sweep Republicans out of power and President George W. Bush trying to stoke turnout among the party faithful.
 
Titanic success was bittersweet: Winslet
NEW YORK (AP) - The release of the blockbuster that made her a household name, "Titanic," should have been a happy time for Kate Winslet. Instead, she was mourning the loss of her first love, Stephen Tredre. "Looking back, I see what I was dealing with when `Titanic' came out," the 31-year-old actress says in Sunday's Parade magazine. "I had a lot of pain, and I was confused about who I was."
