Thotho: Little drummer boy

Seeing is believing! Seven- year-old Thotho from the Maldives is a little drummer boy. He has stormed his way to stardom in his country. A drummer with a great future, if he continues in the same vein.

Thotho and the Gang supported by Youpee and Faree from the Maldives, held their maiden Concert at the Bishop's College, Auditorium recenty in front of a large gathering of fans friends and musicians from Maldives and Sri Lanka.

On his own
Shizan Thuoo popularly known Thoto, started his drumming career on his own whilst banging on an old Milo tin with delight. He is a grade two student at Iskander School in Male. Youngest in a family of four boys - Zai, Ziya and Dha, Shzian now a proud owner of full set of professional drums.

He started with his drums just six months ago, thanks to his father, who brought him all the equipment and give all encouragement he needed. Today he is the cynosure of all eyes.

‘In the near future he could do proud for the country and to family, in the international circuit’ said his father Ahamed Arif, when TV Times met and interviewed along with Thoto.

He said, that his father gave him all encouragement and the backing and today he could match his skills against experienced drummers.
He won rounds of applause from the big audience at the Bishop's College at his maiden concert, after a stunning performace.

He could play the double with both feet and could play 25 songs without a break,

The Wildfire
Wild Fire, one of Sri Lanka’s leading bands and Karma’ were on stage with Thotho and the Gang at this concert. ‘I will be in Sri Lanka soon to have massive musical concert with Sri Lankan artistes. This will be a charity show , mainly to help the less fortunate on humanitarian grounds’ Thoto said
