CBNSat sponsorship for Tennis

Sri Lanka’s bid for a promotion to Group Two of the Davis Cup received a significant boost when the CBNSat came forward to tie up in a handsome sponsorship deal. The sponsorship will not only cover the Davis Cup, which is to be held in Manila Philippines in mid-July this year but also the squad’s three-month long preparation in Bangkok.

Sri Lanka’s participation in the world’s premier international team championship dates back to 1953. CBNsat pledged its full support for the homegrown talent, five-man Sri Lankan Davis Cup squad which is on selection process at present will be selected after a series of trial games.

The national squad will have three stints of advanced training-two at the tennis Academy of Asia in Bangkok and one in Colombo under the watchful eyes of a specialist from the Bangkok Academy. The sponsorship will also provide the players with the wealth of experience to compete in two back-to-back International Tennis Federation (ITF) Futures tournaments in Bangkok.
