Ten UNP MPs on crossover list

A number of UNP MPs, unhappy over the way the party leadership crisis was sorted out, are reportedly planning to cross over, The Sunday Times learns.
A spokesman for the rebel group within the rebel group said that unless their original demand for the removal of the party leader is met by Wednesday, they would cross over.

Some 10 MPs including Keheliya Rambukwella, G.V. Punchinilame, Sarath Ranawake, G.L. Peiris and Mahinda Samarasinghe are reported to be on this list.

In this backdrop, President Mahinda Rajapakse reportedly said on Friday that some UNPers were trying to cross over, but he had not “opened the door” for them so far.
