A net to cap speed merchants in Kandy
Seventy future young fast bowling prospects drawn from Kandy, Kegalle and N'Eliya districts came in for scrutiny for the Hero Honda, Speed Merchants camp at the Asgiriya International Stadium, on January. 4.

The organisers have got the blessings of Sri Lanka Cricket (Chairman of Selectors) who has nominated M. Devaraja (as a talent scout) to assist the Asian Cricket Academy.

“The Hill Capital camp will be followed by Matara on January 10, Kalutara on January 17, Dambulla 24, Badulla 31, Negombo (Probably) February 2, Colombo February 15. The final camp to pick the ten players for one-year scholarship, sponsored by Hero Honda will be held on Feb. 25. It will afford them to continue their academic career, besides undergoing training at Austasia”, said a senior official of Stafford Motors.

One of them picked after the first camp was K.M.C. Bandara from St. Mary's, Kegalle. An 18-year-old lad, a left-arm medium pacer. He came in for close scrutiny.
