Seneviratne School of Cricket down IACA
Jayantha Seneviratne, one of the hardest hitters of the ball, has opened up a thriving under 13 and under 19 school of cricket and just to prove its strength they triumphed both age group matches against the Imtiaz Ahmed Cricket Academy, Bangalore. Both matches were evenly contested and Jayantha Seneviratne’s School of Cricket displayed better skills in every department to bag all major awards.

Imtiaz Ahamed was impressed with batting and bowling skills of the Jayantha Seneviratne school. In the under 13 encounter Thaveesha Ratnayake was adjudged the man-of-the series and the best bowler was Sampath de Silva.

Bangalore’s promising young prospect D. Rohith was selected the best batsman of the series. The man of the match awards in the three matches went to: First match: Dilhan Jayatilleke; Second match: D. Rohith (Imtiaz Ahamed Academy); Third match: Thaveesh Ratnayake.

In the under age group Krishal Magage from St. Peter’s and attached to the Jayantha Seneviratne School was selected the man of the series for his consistency. Krishal was awarded the best batsman’s award too. The best bowler’s award went to B. Rasique of the Imtiaz Ahamed Academy.
Rasique comes from Bangalore where reputed batsmen like V.V. Lakshman and match winning ‘legie’ Anil Kumble hails. A lot is expected from Rasique in the near future. The future of India’s cricket looks very bright due to the efforts put in by people like Imtiaz Ahamed.

Undoubtedly Jayantha Seneviratne is one of the most experienced coaches in Sri Lanka. He has wide experience on and off the field. He has produced cricketers in the calibre of Mahela Jayawardena, Shantha Kalawitigoda, all-rounder Kumar Dharmasena whilst coaching Nalanda.

Former Sri Lanka footballer, late Edward Wickramasuriya’s son Ashan won the man of the match award in the under 19 age group in the second game.
