‘Sulangata Mediwi’: Friendship misused
Sulangata Medivi,’ the latest teledrama that joined 7.30 pm belt on Rupavahini channel starting from July 2 discusses how careful one should be when facing the problems that come up in day to day life in this complex society.
Dharshana Wickremaratne is married and his wife is Nita. Shayamalee is their only daughter. Dharshana is an executive and his best friend is Niranjan Karaliyadda who is unmarried and a playboy. Dharshana is a responsible husband and a father.

One day Niranjan takes Dharshana to meet Daisy a four month pregnant woman and in midst of this Niranjan goes out informing them to remain there and that he would return soon.

Five hours pass but Niranjan does snot return and meanwhile Dharshana and Daisy becomes friends and they talk about their past, about families and even personal experiences. During this conversation Dharshana even shares certain matters about his wife Nita and their relationship too. These stories are something new to Daisy who was brought up in an orphanage. She had started an affair with Niranjan and the child she is carrying belonged to Niranjan.

Two days of this incident Niranjan leaves for England on a scholarship and Dharshana is angry that he is deserting Daisy. But Niranjan convinces Dharshana to keep it a secret from Daisy. When Daisy inquires about Niranjan from Dharshana he lies but soon she comes to know about Niranjan.
Daisy turns violent and starts to get revenge from Dharshana for lying her. Using the personal information she came to know from Dharshana she manages to destroy his family life. She makes a plot to convince Nita that she was carrying on with Dharshana and she even carries a baby from him. Nita who believes in the story leaves Dharshana. Dharshana who was unaware about all this continues to meet Daisy. Meanwhile Niranjan returns and Daisy narrates another story saying that Dharshana tried to misuse her.

How can Dharshana get out from the ploy? What happens to Nita and the daughter? Will Daisy be able to continue with her plans?

The main roles in 'Sulangata Mediwi' are played by Janaka Kumbukge, Nayana Kumari, Damitha Abeyratne and Lucky Dias. Chitra Vakista, Ruwanthi Mangala, Vinie Wettasinghe, Prasannajith Abeysooriya, Premadasa Vithanage, Nirda Uyanhewa, Kapila Sigera and Nelum Kalubowila.

In the technical crew, Sanatha Samaranayake wrote the screenplay, Jagath Weeratunge edited, camera handled by Saman Sigera and music directed by Navaratne Gamage. Mohan Fernando is the produced and Lucky Dias directed 'Sulangata Medivi'.
