The spokesman does not speak
Though he resigned from his media portfolio, Minister Mangala Samaraweera still remains the minority UPFA Government's official spokesman.
So much so, a media advisory from the Information Department’s acting Deputy Director, Priyantha Mayadunna, listed his name as one of those who would address a news conference on the presentation of the Joint Mechanism or P-TOMS in Parliament.

But Mr. Samaraweera did not turn up. Soon after sittings of Parliament ended abruptly last Friday, he was known to have berated at least one Cabinet Minister, a strong supporter of the JM and a lawyer who tried to pacify him. Another Minister who was listed but did not turn up was Feriel Ashraff.
