Gold and Silver for Lankans

Sri Lankan track stars Rohan Pradeep and Prasanna Amerasekera came good at Jarkata, Indonesia in the first leg of the Asian Grand Prix, taking the gold and the silver in the 400metres event, yesterday.

It was sweet revenge for the young Rohan Pradeep who clocked 46:19 seconds to beat his arch rival Prasanna Amerasekera to second place, after the latter had beaten him in the recently held national trials at the Sugathadasa Stadium.

Prasanna in his effort finished with a timing of 46:55 seconds.The second and third legs of the Asian Grand Prix will be held in Thailand and Singapore respectively.
